Observation Tower at Pyramidenkogel



Perfect symbiosis of wood and steel in the world highest wooden tower – After 44 years the lookout at Pyramdienkogel in Carinthia has been replaced. The new tower, an elliptical wooden steel structure, was build by the „consortium Pyramidenkogel Rubner – Zeman”. The structural steel wood constuction twists like a screw into the sky. With 441 steps to the observation deck, 100 meters to the tip of the antenna and around 300 tonnes of steel in the interior is the new landmark at the Wörthersee currently the tallest wooden tower in the world. A special attraction is the tallest building chute in Europe that leads almost 52 meters in depth.
